8 Channel Temperature Logger

Here’s one I created for thermal testing on Billy’s product. This will simultaneously grab the temperature (via thermocouples) from 8 different points and feed them back through a serial connection. It also has the capability (if the EEPROM is installed) to store these values if a PC is unavailable.

It works well. I haven’t been able to test across the useful range of the thermocouple (0-1024 C) because I have no way to generate that type of heat. The temperatue inside my pants only reaches 900 C.

RF Hack Part 2

This last weekend was the first weekend since I’ve been in California that I was able to work on a personal project. What a weekend! Nothing went wrong… that doesn’t happen often. I populated the RF Hack board that I made several months back. I also wrote a bit of code to enable the board to do it’s thing. Basically the board works off of one button (which is why the other is not populated). Press it once and it iterates upwards through the 1024 possibilities. Press it again and it pauses.

I made a little VIDEO.

So, the big question is… does it work? Answer is… I don’t know and I will not know until I can return to San Diego.

Tiny 0603

Here is a picture of the latest board I completed for work. It’s doesn’t do anything spectacular… but it’s my first experience with 0603 components. These things are tiny. It’s very difficult to solder one of these guys without the aid of a microscope. I assembled this entire board with out the use of a microscope thanks to the hot air re-work tool.
